In 1996, a group of enthusiastic scientists ventured out of the box and took on the task of reducing the size of conventional Hyperspectral Imaging systems for purposes of widening its use into the commercial terrestrial markets. The mission of this group was to initiate dual use technologies and further the use of these technologies into conventional and unconventional research and use.
In 2006, Vizaura, was created to take on the R&D and innovative projects that were separate from the established products coming out of the original projects and allow for the focus on the new generation of disruptive technologies in the hardware and software vertical market space.
This team would go on to be awarded with the coveted "NASA "Space Technology Hall of Fame" that was awarded through the Space Foundation and the technology.
1995-1996 : Our CEO and Technologist, Mark Allen Lanoue, began working with a spin-off from a NASA and Mississippi Ag program from NASA Stennis Space Center called Resource21 (a Boeing Company). The technology was based on agricultural change maps. The technology and software used was the foundation that would ultimately lead to the advent of a crop of portable turnkey hyperspectral imaging systems. The original technology was referred to as the RDACS Multispectral Imaging System. It was a system that used a 4 & 5 band filter based multispectral imaging system and DOS based software to collect data from the belly of Cessna aircraft and was then sent to the processing office via BBS systems.
1996-2007 : The Institute for Technology Development (ITD) : Several members of our staff had its roots in the development of several programs spun out from HEDS (Human Exploration & Development of Space), NASA Commercial Space & NASA Research Programs. During this time, many game changing projects, R&D, and International Programs/Partnerships changed the landscape globally for a technology that would become an emerging technology in a plethora of markets. 1997 : Our CEO began a cooperative with SPECIM in Finland. Over the years, our CEO would work with SPECIM on a number of integration and development project. In 2004, a UV spectrograph was developed to add to the SPECIM "Extended" series that would cover the 200 to 400 nm range. This was developed along with NASA Supplemental Funds, after our CEO engaged SPECIM about the possibilities of developing the first small UV based spectrograph for a portable turnkey hyperspectral system.
2001-2005 : In 2001, our CEO established a test bed company called Photon Industries, Inc. It began the case to establish a global market for turnkey hyperspectral imaging systems and software and to establish cooperatives and partnerships for the education and marketing of a game changing technology. This would lead to the Spin off of the technology into the Commercial Market.
2001 : Our CEO designed an enclosure that was built through TSWG ( Technical Support Working Group), an interagency group/taskforce, along with a team of engineers, programmers & scientists. The enclosure was delivered to Quantico to be used for use in studying forensic evidence. Our current technology (predecessor) was being developed for use on the International Space Station for Bio Science. There was also a plan to integrate an imaging and a trajectory system for educational studies for K through College. It was originally deemed "HyperSense".
2004 : In 2004, our CEO began travels to ASIA including China, which began years of development of relationships and imaging projects. Our CEO along with a distributor and partner, Wisdom Technologies, have imaged National Treasures and introduced this technology into a number of markets and Research Institutes. Our CEO also gave a game changing symposium to China's elite in Beijing China with the help of Ryan International.
2005 : Team members, including our CEO, & the Hyperspectral Imaging Technology were inducted into the NASA "Space Technology Hall of Fame" ( Sponsored by the Space Foundation ).
2006-2007 : Under a Licensing agreement through ITD, a Mississippi Company (Lextel Intelligence Systems, LLC) , had taken on the technology to extend beyond the borders of the state and the USA. Although some barriers were knocked down, the technology still needed time to find its way into the mainstream market place and more work and backing to educate toward the basis of acceptance in numerous markets.
2007-2012 : A company, Emerging Technologies, LLC ( A Mississippi Company ), was established to take the technology deeper into the international market and to establish new partnerships to update the technology/software and to find vertical markets for the use of the technology. Laboratories and R&D training centers were established worldwide for government, academic, and commercial entities that have far reaching importance in bringing this technology to vast R&D markets in the field of imaging Research.
2013-Present : Vizaura, LLC is the catalyst that will take the years of experience and breakthroughs into an international market that is now accepting the technology into areas like conservation, nanotechnology, biomarkets, and many other areas that were struggling with where to use such a technology that had its roots in Geology, Aerospace, and Agriculture. We are moving into new territory and with our team of experienced innovators, cooperatives, and partners; which can open new vertical market opportunities.
2013 : Our CEO became a board member for the Hyperspectral Imaging Foundation.
2015 : Vizuara established a Cooperative with Gooch & Housego and has been working on several promising projects/programs with our partners and cooperatives.
2015-2016 : Vizaura became a distributor of Hyperspectral technologies that were derived from NASA Commercial Space spin-off technologies. We are now working with out cooperatives, clients, and partners on some new exciting technologies.
